Engineering Designer - Morrison, TN
Morrison, TN Manufacturer is actively seeking an experienced Engineering Designer. This position is tasked with developing 3D models and drawings at the direction of Engineering and Program Management
Training / Education
High school or Equivalent (AS degree preferred)
2 years experience in plastic design or 3 to 5 years mechanical design
Must possess experience with Injection molding, Packaging and Thermoforming materials.
Employee must possess general math, and literary skills
General computer skills with focused experience using Microsoft Excel and Word software
Demonstrated proficiency in Solid Works and/or Catia modeling software
Education and/or work experience demonstrating technical print reading skills
Responsibilities and Duties
Review instructions from Engineering and/or Prog Mgt and verify it is complete Once a design request is submitted, review the direction and ask clarifying questions to assure the information is complete and accurate
Gather appropriate information
Request and receive any customer supplied data related to the request
Verify data is accurate to the supplied information
Verify if timing requested is sufficient to complete work
Report to requester and Lead Prog Mgr any discrepancies for correction and re-submission
Design solution with appropriate interaction with key stake holders Develop design solution and communicate with Engineering and Prog Management as needed
Ask clarifying questions as needed throughout the design process
Supply concept sketches as required to gain approval
Generate drawings as required
Submit drawings to checker to verify they conform to drawing standards
Once approved by drawing checker, submit to Engineering/Prog Mgr for review and approval
Modify drawings as needed and re-submit
File CAD data and drawings in appropriate folders on server
Follow established procedure for location and format on Server
Communicate with requester and Prog Mgt when files are available
Submit files to customer site as requested by Engineer and/or Prog Mgr
Submit time report to Lead Prog Mgr weekly
Use approved format for reporting time expended on designs by Quote # or Sales Order #
Highlight any unusual activity requiring Management review
Support the needs of Program Management and Engineering as needed and requested
At times special projects will be assigned by the Lead Program Manager in support of projects. You will be responsible for assisting in any way needed to assure that programs are completed in a timely manner with exceptional quality.
THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE POSITIONEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
